Adiyabold Namkhai
I have about 20 years of experience in the tourism industry first established New Milestone Tour Company in 2004 with the mission of promoting and operating outdoor adventurous and cultural tours in Mongolia.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"Based on my personal experiences and observation of international tourism industry, I decided to choose to work with special-interest tourists as private tour groups, including professional photographers, filmmakers, fishermen, and soft adventure culture lovers. As the tourism industry itself is rich and abundant, I was also inspired to promote eco-friendly and community-based tours. "
How did you get involved in travel?
"Fueled with a strong passion for becoming a professional tour guide and tour operator, I studied in and graduated from Mongolian Tourism Institute. My guiding career started back in 1996 when I was working as an assistant tour guide. Later I was hired by Santis Education Center as a part-time guide. Aiming to become more qualified in my profession, I took a Tour Guide training course and became certified as a tour guide by the Mongolian Tourism Board in 2002.
By then, I had also established strong relationships with tour industry professionals as well as organizations that make regular trips to Mongolia. "
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"One of the amazing clients was the Bernardo family. A family of 6 wanted to do a photography trip to the most scenic places in Mongolia. The trip took two weeks. The trip included fantastic activities such as horseback riding, wildlife watching, and staying in a ger/yurt. The happiest moment was living with local nomadic families and kids playing with kids, local people were helping the family to have stunning photos in the scenic lakes and mountains. One day it snowed unexpectedly and family wanted to do a half-day family photo shoot in the snow. The kids were reluctant because they were cold. So, local nomads started making a bonfire and made the kid's hands and feet warm. It was so heartwarming to see the nomads and tourists working together like a family. "
