Working with Rinolda again made our second trip to Iceland unique. She suggested two itineraries. We chose to travel the complete Rung Road. Rinolda took the time to ask if there were specific places we wanted to visit and things we wanted to do. She then put together a trip for us that took us to different places as well as locations we wanted to see in the summer.

Once we were in Iceland, Rinolda reached out to us each day. She answered our questions quickly . One day she found us a new restaurant to try. All the hotels and activities were booked for us. There is a Tip Summary that has all the information needed in one place. Each day included a Driving Plan that ran on Google maps.

I come from a family of historically late people, so there were a few times where we were running late for ticketed items or needed to move dinner reservations later. I messaged Veronika in these instances, and she was on it for me, contacting the places and letting me know if things could be moved around. I didn't expect Veronika to be as available as she was to me... I don't think I waited longer than 10 minutes for most of the responses from her throughout the trip. She really went above and beyond, and was responsive before the trip/able to make adjustments to the plan/hotel changes as needed beforehand via the chat in KimKim. I asked her to make the trip a blend of activity and relaxation since members of my family enjoy both, and she staggered hikes and relaxing hot springs perfectly so that the trip met everyone's needs. Best of all, we actually got to meet Veronika in person when we stopped in her city and we had dinner together. She was even more intelligent, funny, and adorable in person and we were so glad to have the opportunity to meet her. I would send any friend planning to go to Iceland to her to plan their trip. Super fun. A bit physically challenging, but in a good way. You go right inside an ice cave on a glacier and then through it to come out on the other side to hike on the glacier a short way.

Kayaking was cancelled due to wind.

Missed hot pools due to baggage delivery system breaking at the airport causing a 2 plus hour delay.

Ice cave tour was outstanding
Food recommendations were very helpful.
Maps and turn by turn guide got us to all out destinations.
Lizbet, thank you for the descriptions of all the nearby waterfalls and other tourist attractions. Extremely helpful.

The hotels selected by Terry and KimKim were very comfortable and, as much as possible, conveniently located. Here are a couple of tips from me for future travelers: If possible, spend more than one day in Akureyri. It's a great small city and a jumping off point for other activities in the area. Also, be prepared for any kind of weather at any time - pack accordingly. The whale watching tour was great and Husavik is beautiful town to visit. Definitely partake in the nature baths in any part of the country; they are very soothing after driving (and some days driving will be long and tiring). Overall, this was a great trip and kimkim made planning so much easier. I will use them in the future for other travels.

This was a cool experience. It was fun and the place is very nice. I didn't eat at the restaurant but the menu looked good. The room with the beer bath and tap is private, clean, and you should definitely try it out, since you came all this way anyway.

This was a nice large natural bath. It was very soothing and had a swim up bar that was very convenient. It has great views overlooking the water like an infinity pool. Viewing the sunset from the water was very nice.

Husavik Whale Watching

I highly recommend this activity. But check the time of year vs whale populations in the harbor. I was there when the whales were in abundance and got to see many. But it may be different at other times of year. The boats can accommodate many people and even though there were lots of people, I never felt crowded. There was always room to move about the vessel. Also, they were nice enough to give everyone hot chocolate and a cinnamon roll on the way back to port.

The Geothermal Vok Baths

This is a very nice facility and the staff was great. They have the main pools, plus 2 floating pools in the river. It is possible to jump into the freezing river and then climb back into the pools. It was a unique experience. A nice touch is also a corridor where you can walk right into the pool without having to brave the cold outside air. Of course, I learned that too late.

Elisa organised an epic ten day adventure for us through the West Fjords and south coast of Iceland. Hanna did an amazing job planning our Icelandic trip. She asked what type of family adventure we wanted and zoned in our family activity style with insight and great suggestions, which made our trip so memorable. Plus Silvia was just a text away ready to help us wuth an on the spot recommendation for an indoor activity during a downpour to rebooking a tour. Knowing she was available made our experience worry free. We loved the local lunch spots, visiting Efstidalur II Farm Bistro, Hella Caves, Vik adventures and Blue Lagoon zodiac tours. The guides were all so knowledgeable and kind. We left Iceland knowing we would want to come back to explore more.

The staff were so friendly, horses included! The weather did our original date was not safe for riding. The staff offered us options and we rebooked for the next day. So glad we did! It is wirth noting that near Vik Adventures is a grocery store and an icelandic shop. Great stop to also pick up snacks and souvenirs (best prices we saw)

Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon Zodiac boat tour

The experience was unforgettable! We're glad we did the zodiak boat as the grouo was smaller and the tour took as all around the lagoon. The guide explained a lot about the icebergs, the different colirs and even some troll legends about the blue ones his grandfather told him when he was a lad.

What a prefect way to finish our trip. Lockers are povided and acessed with a wristband. The waters are amazing and there are so many different areas including a quiet zone and a refreshing waterfall. You will probably find the swim up bar first as your first drink is on the house. You also have a free mask treatment included... Just swim up the mask bar. When you need a break there is also a wet and dry sauna. We enjoyed our time there so much!

The hotels and car were perfect for the price range we requested and no glitches with any of the reservations. The detailed trip plan had multiple recommendations for each day so we could adjust our activities pending mood and weather--and the plan had very nice links to Google Maps, which along with the GPS provided with the car, made navigation a breeze. What a pleasure to travel without worries and be free to experience and enjoy the country and it's people. We would highly recommend the Kim Kim travel experience and highly recommend Adam if Iceland is your destination.

The driving instructions along with the commentary was well thought out and professionally done. Weather conditions changed dramatically through the days there and the weather reports essentially were pretty erratic. On our way back from Vik we got hit with a storm that the car rental folks said was only the 4th time in the last 75 years... read more

The driving instructions along with the commentary was well thought out and professionally done. Weather conditions changed dramatically through the days there and the weather reports essentially were pretty erratic. On our way back from Vik we got hit with a storm that the car rental folks said was only the 4th time in the last 75 years it snowed with such fury this late in the season. Counted at least 15 cars along the way that needed to be pulled out of ditches. If you are traveling in hump seasons be sure to get road hazard protection. I did and fortunately did not have to use it. I think I included too many stops on the first day after an early morning arrival ( 5am) but better to over than under plan. Most of the hotels were very nice but small as are most in Europe. Breakfasts were very good with Langaholt the most unique, the Skuggi missing a warm bacon, egg, and sausage option. Accommodations at Hotel Vik and Langaholt quite plain, Geysir and Magma most scenic and well appointed hotel. Liked the B59 Hotel beds, nice and firm. Very much enjoyed the Freidheimar tomato lunch, and dinner at the Magma Hotel. Check in a breeze. With all the reviews and articles I read on Iceland I have to concur that layering -merino wool long johns- hiking boots, scarf, hats, and gloves especially to a 75 year old that does not enjoy cold weather were a must.

The Icelandic tour guides ( from Poland) were all very well informed and congenial so no complaints there. The people of Iceland have been able to stay focused on keeping their unique country environmentally beautiful clear of graffiti and litter and word of caution- watch out for scooters and bicycles.

Our ten day trip to Iceland was very memorable where the tour arranged by Emanuela allowed us to see and do a lot in a very short time. The first thing that caught our eye was the beauty of Iceland. Emanuela arranged a car rental for us and we drove over a thousand miles where we saw lava fields, dozens of water falls, glaciers, gorgeous remote coastlines, and snow capped mountains.

Emanuela also arranged plenty of activities which engaged us and our teenage kids. This included snow mobiling, hikes, an ATV tour of the coastline, ice cave hikes, glacier hikes, and hikes at waterfall sites. It was a packed schedule but appreciated the nice hotels with warm cozy rooms, plenty of hot water, and good food.

We do recommend that if you travel to Iceland in the Spring to buy offshore sailing gear (foul weather gear). It rained 8 of the 10 days we were in Iceland and when the rain comes down sideways, it does sting. Good foul weather gear will protect you and keep you toasty.
