Said and his team helped plan our entire weeklong itinerary, taking all of our requests into account. In a weeks time, we've seen the blue city of Chefchaouen, the imperial city of Meknes, the historic medina in Fez, spent time in the desert by Merzouga, Aït Benhaddou and Marrakech.

Each city has brought with it a unique and individualized experience, and memories that we know will last a lifetime. Our driver Faisal has been incredibly accommodating and hospitable, he is the reason why our trip has been so memorable. From his firsthand knowledge of Morocco's history, to making sure I had enough caffeine to make it through the early mornings, Faisal gave us a truly authentic experience.

It was evident from the minute we met Faisal that he has a deep love for his country and Moroccan culture and is eager to share it with his clients. This is clearly not just his job, but his passion. He played a pivotal role in the trip of a lifetime for us that we will forever cherish.

Having never used a travel agency before, I had reservations about putting my vacation in the hands of others. But I can say without any hesitation, this has been the best vacation we've ever had and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Said and Faisal for anyone planning a visit to Morocco.

Once we arrived in Morocco we were greeted by our driver, Soukayna. We cannot say enough good things about her! She truly made our trip spectacular. She always had a smile on her face, personable, funny, professional, safe and an amazing driver, calm, always early, resourceful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had the most memorable vacation. She even made sure that our 5 year wedding anniversary was not forgotten and surprised us with a cake she was able to source from a local family in Merzouga. We couldn't imagine seeing and experiencing Morocco with anyone else. Soukayna started off as our driver and ended as our family she was truly the hardest goodbye of our trip!

The driver assigned to us throughout the entire trip is very good. His name is Karim from Original Travels. Very service orientated, soft spoken and gave us good insight before each point of interest. He cleaned the car every day, drove safely and has good temperament.

The licensed guide assigned to us at Fes (as part of our package) on the other hand, is disappointing to say the least. He is more interested to get us to shop (I guess he gets a commission) rather than giving us the details of each place of interest. Through our half day tour, we have to stop many times, waiting for him to finish his conversation with friends he met along the way and at one point in time even to wait for him to pay his personal bills. I don't think he has respect for our time as tourists there. He asked for our tips even before we started our tour! Clearly unprofessional! We went back to our hotel at 1400hrs, clearly disappointed with our experience at Fes.

We stayed a night at Odyssee Center Hotel at Casablanca, 2 nights at Riad Braya (Ambassador Suites), 1 night at Dar Jasmine and finally a night at Riad Mokhtar Tanger. Brief comments on each hotel as follows (based on the rooms that we were assigned):

Odyssee Center Hotel: I will rate this hotel at most 2 stars (out of 5). Water pressure from shower head is weak and irregular with intermittent bouts of cold and very hot water. Towels came with patches of yellow stains. Very dim room, facing a dilapidated abandon office building, Not a comfortable stay.

Riad Braya: Service staff at this hotel is excellent. Very friendly and prepared to roll up their sleeves to serve their guests. The Ambassador Suites that we stayed is large but not ostentatious. We were disappointed that TV is not working and despite the service staff best efforts, it was blacked out throughout our 2 nights stay. Fortunately, we have Netflix to watch on our ipad! I will rate this riad at 4 star. Bed is comfortable, water pressure is good and breakfast is tasty.

Dar Jasmine: The best room (even though we were given a normal room) we had throughout the 6 days trip. The hotel staff are all out to please and impress their guests! View is breath taking and everything looks new and works in the room. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful. I will highly recommend this hotel at Chefchaouen. A 5 star experience!

Riad Mokhtar Tanger: Unfortunately we ended our trip with a 2 star experience. Given a very dim room with dirty carpets and worse of all, air conditioner is not working. Toilet flush doesn't work properly too. Wanted to change a room but front desk lady went back home right after handing us the keys. Fortunately, we can draw some cool air by opening our windows (at the expense of noise coming from adjoining streets). Cannot imagine staying in this room in the middle of summer!

This was an absolutely incredible trip. Soukina, our driver, was among the best I've ever had. She was affable, resourceful, funny, flexible, and always punctual. The trip organizer, Saïd, went above and beyond to make this a memorable trip. For example, while in Merzouga, he responded to my last-minute request to stay with a Berber nomad family that night, and somehow he was able to make it happen! However, we were not prepared for the types of roads we would be travelling on for long hours on this trip. All four of us are 70+ years old and the vehicle used was not very uncomfortable in the back two rows of seats. My wife and our friend Karen were bounced around almost continuously. Plus the back of the seat was tilted back making it impossible to sit upright. The nine hour ride to the desert was especially difficult as the road was often rough, winding with tight curves. The road down the mountain into Marrakech was under construction which caused us to drive on temporary roads which were very rough.
Our room at the hotel in Rabat was dangerous. It had what we called the "pit", which was a sunken area with steps less than 5 feet from the foot of the bed with no guard rails. Our room in Chefchaouen was in need of repair as the walls had cracks and chunks of plaster had fallen off in the bathroom. A lamp had fallen over and couldn't be made to stand back up. The stairs up to our room on the third floor were narrow and treacherous. Our companions were on the ground floor and were subjected to loud music and noise from the town square until past midnight.
However, the hotel in Boumalne Dades was a pleasant surprise. Excellent, friendly service made our stay there very enjoyable. The hotels in Fes and Marrakech were outstanding.
The visit to the Sahara and the tent camp, which we were looking forward to, was not worth the two days on the road (one going and one returning).
Overall the trip would have been more enjoyable with a better vehicle and less driving.

The careful planning and on-the-ground attention were seamless. We didn't have to think about a thing! We had an amazing adventure in Northern Morocco! Abdullah gave us great recommendations and our personal driver Soukaina went above and beyond. She’s the best part of our trip. Getting us to each city safely and effortlessly. The guides we had in Fes and Chefchaouen were both great. A perfect way to see a city. We couldn’t have done it without them. The hotel is a beautiful, renovated riad right in the Medina. It has only a few rooms and well maintained. During our stay, it seemed to be less crowded. The spa experience was great- the staff were helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a relaxed stay, this is a nice place. If you need a vibrant, happening place, you should choose to stay elsewhere.

The bar staff was super friendly and chatted with us about his signature drink. The hammam staff were super nice and kind and did an amazing job.

We stayed in the large suite as the other rooms had sold out during that time. Even though the suite was luxurious and large, there were mosquitoes noted in the room. It's not clear if that's the case because that suite is not being used at all times. Maybe the well occupied rooms would have been better.

We only stayed briefly at this hotel. The stay was pleasant. We arrived late at night and the staff were kind to accomodate our needs with a fabulous dinner sent to our room. Given that Chefchaueuen is a hilly town, this hotel is quite a bit of walk from the main road. But the porters help in carrying the luggage and so it's not an issue.

Our stay at Merzouga camp was the highlight of our Morocca experience. Special thanks to Hamid, manager and Mohamed, Ibrahim and other staff for creating such an awesome experience for the visitors and making us feel at home. There was a sandstorm (apparently an extremely unlikely event) the night that we arrived and we were thrilled and excited to hear the wind howling outside the tent which was an unforgettable experience. The staff went special lengths to provide everyone a sumptuous delicious dinner despite the unpredictable weather. The next day, the winds calmed down and it was very beautiful. We enjoyed visiting the sand dunes and had a memorable camel ride to watch the sunset. It was a surreal experience of a lifetime! We had a delicous dinner, listened to the local music and danced with the staff and guests. The night sky is truly an astronomer's delight !

We had a good time touring the Fes Medina. Being a Friday, some shops were closed. The guide, Azdeen gave us a good overview of the tanneries, old school and attarine madarasa. He also took us to the ceramic shop, tanneries and other shops in the medina. At times we felt that the guide was taking us to places such as leather shops where we were forced to buy things and getting a bit upset as we showed no interest in buying things as we were mainly touring for the experience. At the ceramic shop, the prices are super expensive and we felt like we got cheated for the few pieces that we bought here We probably paid 3 xtimes, but we thought the money could be used as a donation for the artisans who work there. This is a tip to the future travelers, tour this place, but avoid buying anything here. The folks also force you to look at fountains and big pieces that are super expensive and marked up for sure.

We had a memorable and amazing guided tour of Marrakesh with our guide, Hannan. Hannan is super nice, extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She was a welcome contrast to our guide in Fes. Hannan gave us an excellent overview of the spice markets, the sights such as the koutouba mosque and the Bahia palace tour. She also went out of the way to find us a great lunch place after we finished out tour.

While in Marrakech I unfortunately lost a day due to travelers tummy and Said quickly rejiggered my itinerary by pushing everything out a day, which would have been a nightmare if I had to do this myself.

Our driver, Samir, who was with us from beginning to end was fantastic. He is very polite, professional, and was a great resource for everything Morocco! He truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and got the most out of our Morocco experience. He seems to know everyone and made sure any handoffs with guides and hotels were seamless and we were taken care of. We were an adult mother/daughter travel team. We were looking for a trip together where we could learn about a new culture while spending time together, we settled on Morocco as our destination, but we were both too busy to develop our own itinerary. Also, we don’t speak Arabic or Berber, and a large group tour didn't seem like a good fit. Kim Kim/Original travel proposed a program that moved us around the country in 8 days— we saw a lot! Our driver, Samir, was efficient, and unfailingly unflappable, courteous and on time. He schooled us on some language basics and was happy to chat about Morocco. He became a member of our travel team. Sometimes I just wanted to sit in the back seat, eat tasty cookies, and soak up the scenery. That was ok too! We spent time in Casablanca, Fez, the desert (on many camels), Marrakech, and every point in between. Memories to last our lifetimes. We saw a lot that we can study at our leisure now that we are back :)

First, I would like to say that our driver/guide Sallam could not have been better. He displayed a great competency in his role and understood and executed very well in attending to the needs of our traveling group.
The itinerary for this trip was a bit of a challenge for us 70 something age group. It included a lot of driving on some pretty rough road surfaces, some under construction (especially in the Atlas Mountains). In retrospect, I am delighted that we covered so much of the country. We did insert a "rest" day toward the end of the trip before heading to Marrakech that was very beneficial to us and I might suggest this as a possible option for other groups in the future. All in all, it turned out to be a wonderful adventure and informational trip. We felt that this "immersion" experience helped us to embrace the Moroccan culture and allowed us to learn so much more about Islam and the friendliness of the Muslim people. I would definitely encourage people to take this trip with Kim Kim but would make sure to identify some of the specific physical challenges that might be faced along the way.

Our 6 different Riad stays were all lovely. Our favorite was Riad Maison Bleue, where Idris took especially great care of us and arranged a birthday cake and music to celebrate.

First and foremost, I would like to give a shout out and a big recognition to our driver Khalil! Without his warmth, flexibility and desire to keep us happy and safe, our trip may have not been as magical. PLEASE GET HIM A RAISE!
